""Ah, Juicy Fruit" 24x36 acrylic on canvas. My best take on Will Sampson as "Chief" Bromden".
"Grindhouse" 24x36 acrylic on canvas. After I made that "grindhouse" type of poster the other day, it inspired me to want to try to do a painting with a sort of vintage poster feel, so tried some new techniques and this is the results, dig it if you can.
You know what makes NDN Hulk mad? When you don't honor the treaties! "Honor the Treaties" 24x36 acrylic on canvas. - Steven Paul Judd

A commerical I directed.

The Day I Met Jim Thorpe

Walking in NYC, I see a man with rugged good looks and a square jaw. He wore a lettermen's jacket draped over a denim shirt and a white v-neck t-shirt. "Mr. Thorpe" I yell from across the street. "Can I get a picture?". A grin washes across his face as he leans onto a stoop for the shot. CLICK. "Call me Jim." he says.
This one's called "The Day I Met Jim Thorpe" from the series where I mixed old photos with new photos.

The 3rd in my NDN GQ Hipster series. Mixing photo's of Natives from the 1800's (in this case Black Horn - Hunkpapa - 1872) with pictures from today. Looking good then and now.
For you "Office Space" fans, this is Pres. Benjamin Harrison trying to explain to the Native American's how their treaty is no longer being honored, so that they can have the "land run".

3D Ledger Art.

Finally finished another one of my "3D Ledger" drawings. This is actually a 2d flat drawing, made to appear to be bursting out of the paper, I hope. Shadows etc were just painted on. Drawn/painted on vintage ledger paper from Jan 21, 1889

Local NPR radio interview I did for the "CAN Film Festival"

Indian Times: The Can Film Festival and Writer/Director Stephen Judd (Apr 07, 2012)

This week on Indian Times,  he’s a writer/director and an artist, now he’s worried about hunger for Native Americans in Oklahoma.  His name is Stephen Judd (Kiowa/Choctaw) and we’ll be discussing his work & upcoming film festival at the Jacobson House on April 13th in Norman,  its been dubbed the Can Film Festival, so bring a can…of food.

LEDGER SKETCH - 16x20 mixed media on canvas.

16x20 Acrylic/India ink/mix media on canvas. In the 1800's every little NDN kid would bug his parents to get him a Ledger Sketch. To clarify, this is a panting, not a real etch-a-sketch

Indie Filmmaker

I've seen a few of these "I'm a Professor" or "I'm a Musician" on-line, but didn't see an "I'm a indie filmmaker" so I made this one for the internet.

HOPI

My take on the Obama HOPE poster.

Vinyl Record

I made this by heating and cutting a vinyl record, then painted on it with Acrylic.

OJIBWE/OBEY

My take on Shepard Fairey's "Obey Giant." The image I used for this was a picture of Es-En-Ce (Little Shell) Ojibwa - 1874. Steven Paul Judd

CODE TALKERS

Most don't know that the first code talkers where Choctaws in WW1, know as the "Choctaw Telephone Squad".  It must be noted that these men were not even able to vote in America.  I made this poster in their honor.

Wood Tie.

Wood Thumb makes wood ties out of reclaimed wood from old barns etc. They come as plain wood, but I figured i'd add a little design to mine.

Cool video! only 12 seconds long. Surprise ending.

I shot this the other day with a little Sony Cyber Shot.
